Saltram House

Saltram House is a mansion house in Plympton whose name is derived from Salt from a nearby estuary. The house originally dates from the Tudor era, but was completely changed by Robert Adam in the Georgian era who added some striking interiors. The gardens area also of note with follies and landscape parkland.

Today it is regarded as a fine example of both Robert Adam’s work and of a early Georgian building. Saltram House has been home to the Parker family and Earls of Morley, but it is now managed by the National Trust.
