Exmouth

Exmouth is situated 10 miles south of Exeter in the middle of typical beautiful Devon scenery of rolling hills and valleys. It is a good traditional seaside resort with a lively town centre that has a good selection of restaurants and shops. However it manages to retain its dignity and is not over commercialised. The town prides itself on its reputation and has won awards for its flowers.

One of the main reasons it is popular is that is has a beach that is 2 miles of sand, where families can enjoy themselves. Exmouth has even more to offer than that, as other regular visitors include migrating birds which in turn attracts bird watchers throughout the year.
Exmouth is also a good base to explore the Jurassic coast of East Devon.

Other attractions nearby include the National Trust maintained A La Ronde building which is a 16 sided thatched house built in 1796, where the rooms are arranged around an octagonal shell. The Exmouth model railway is also worth seeing as it is the largest 00 guage.

All of these and more make Exmouth a desirable place to visit.
