The property

The perfect getaway to the lovely and easily accessible area of Appledore on the north coast, close to spectacular beaches and so much to see and do. An immaculate new two-bedroom semi-detached cottage style house, with a sunny south facing garden and modern furnishings, located on the tranquil outskirts of Appledore with ample parking for two cars on the adjoining driveway. This lovely property sleeps four people, having a tastefully decorated master bedroom with king size bed and a further bedroom with twin beds.

There is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.

The family bathroom is modern with a shower set within the bath.

Downstairs, there is a Lounge diner, flooded with light, with French doors leading to the private patio and rear garden to enjoy the sunshine.

A fully equipped kitchen, containing a microwave, washer/dryer, induction hob, electric oven and integrated fridge freezer.

A great property to have as the base for your holiday. Situated in the fishing village of Appledore, set on a hillside where the River Torridge and Taw meet, you will find this quaint cobbled street village.

The rich history of this area has been centred around ship building, take a visit to the North Devon Maritime Museum.

The quay, popular with crabbing has a great many traditional fishing boats which also are neighbours with yachts and pleasure boats offering trips across, or along the Estuary.

A trip to the pretty 17th century village of Instow is a must, (via foot ferry) which is a wonderful sheltered stretch of dog friendly sandy beach.

A variety of pubs and restaurants to sample the wide range of locally sourced products and seafood.

The Arts and Crafts and local shops will give the option to find unique pieces, the Appledore Crafts Company is also well worth a visit. Take a pleasant stroll to Westward Ho! (where there is great surfing) or Bideford, along the Coast Path.

The beaches at Westward Ho! and Greysands are dog friendly.

There are countless North Devon visits to be made, the traffic free Tarka trail is very popular with cyclists and walkers, allowing the opportunity to enjoy the scenic Devon countryside.

Garden and countryside lovers will enjoy RHS Rosemoor or Tapeley Gardens and the Exmoor National Park all offer a great day out.

If sea fishing is your thing, take a trip and hopefully cook your own dinner from your catch, whilst Dartington Crystal, is the only remaining glass-making factory in the UK.

Or if you are looking for something more adrenalin fuelled, head over to Pebble Ridge Adventure and Go Karts, whilst golfers will enjoy The Royal North Devon Golf Club.

For family fun, visit the “Big Sheep”, “Milky Way adventure” parks only a few miles away in Bideford. A holiday to remember at Harley’s Hideaway.

Where the Taw and Torridge rivers meet, sits the delightful quayside village of Appledore, next to the River Torridge. Appledore boasts a small but great range of shops, pubs, guesthouses and art galleries. A thriving fishing and trading village since the 14th century, Appledore has been a famous boat-building centre for many years and the shipyard is still active today. Picturesque Appledore provides a peaceful base from which to explore North Devon, and is close to surf beaches.The Quay is very central to life in the village and it is here you will find many activities including fishing trips, crabbing contests on the quay, and sometimes Morris Dancers. Surf the waves, stroll through pretty villages, wander along the Tarka Trail, visit a famous garden or have some fun at one of the local theme or farm parks – it’s all on the doorstep.
