    Sorry we were out most of the time so could not take full advantage of the property or all the food provided. The gluten free cake and bread made specially by Judith were delicious!'

This quaint, single-storey lodge is located in the owner’s mature grounds in the rural village of Dunchideock, a few miles outside the bustling city of Exeter.

Enjoying a serene location, Detox In Dunchideock offers a romantic bolthole for couples, providing easy access to the picturesque sights of Devon and Cornwall.

Follow a single-track lane to the off-road parking space, before discovering this quaint abode.

The space is totally separate from the house.

Several steps lead up to the lodge, passing through the owner’s flourishing gardens and greenhouses.

Offering an open-plan studio layout, you’ll find everything you need in one room; the kitchen is small yet equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, plus the owner has kindly stocked the cupboards with the essentials to get you started!

A homemade cake is there to welcome every visitor.

Enjoy a home-cooked meal at the dining table or at one of the many nearby pubs before getting comfortable on the sofa and losing yourself in a good book.

With no WiFi at this lodge, you have the opportunity to switch off from the online world and live in the moment.

Step out the door and onto several scenic walks and trails crossing the countryside, just two miles away is Haldon Forest, perfect for thrill seekers, with mountain biking, zip wiring and orienteering opportunities.

Riding stables are a walk away and the endless charm of the moors only a 25 minute drive away.

Visit the River Teign, a wonderful sight with a chance to kayak along its waters or head to the waterfall of Canonteign Falls, a sight not to be missed.

For a change of scenery, visit the cathedral city of Exeter, home to a plethora of shops, pubs, restaurants, and remarkable architecture, ranging from its Gothic Cathedral, well-preserved city walls and its 11th century castle, surrounded by the landscaped Northernhay Gardens.

Alternatively, if it’s a day on the beach you desire, head to the traditional seaside town of Dawlish, which has a host of family-friendly attractions, as well as access to the South West Coast Path, which runs right through the town.
