Within the Dartmoor National Park , Parford Well is an extremely comfortable house set in a pretty walled garden overlooking unspoilt countryside in the River Teign Valley. Dartmoor National Park covers an area of 368 square miles - the largest and wildest area of open country in southern England. Throughout the year Dartmoor is an exceptionally beautiful place to visit , with deep wooded gorges , beautiful lake-like reservoirs and tumbling rocky rivers. It is the ideal place for a few days break if you want to 'get away from it all' , relax and be well looked after. There are wonderful walks on the doorstep in this wooded valley and on the open moor. Chagford is one mile away as is Castle Drogo , the 20th century castle now in National Trust ownership. It is a perfect touring centre and day trips from here may include the Eden Project and the North Cornish Coast or Dartmouth , Totnes and the South Hams. Parford Well is a 'no smoking' house and I regret is not suitable for children under 8 years or for pets as there is a dog in residence.
