Strete Barton House

16th Century Manor House hosting bed & breakfast, in the heart of Strete village, near Dartmouth, South Devon. Panoramic views across Start Bay to Start Point Lighthouse and the mouth of the river Dart. The location is ideal to explore the South Hams, including the award winning beaches of Slapton Sands and Blackpool Sands, Slapton Ley Nature Reserve and the South West Coast Path. Situated close to Dartmouth, with Torcross, Slapton and Salcome nearby, Strete has two restaurants, one Michelin noted. Strete Barton House has been sympathetically refurbished with a mix of contemporary and Eastern classical art, luxurious French sleigh beds (including a super-king size four-poster), Egyptian cotton bed linen, silk bed furnishings, featherdown pillows, fluffy white towels, TV with DVD/CD player, extensive beverage tray, mineral water and luxury French toiletries. All bedrooms are spacious double size, some with twin beds. The guest drawing room is filled with sofas and armchairs and an open fireplace. On arrival all our guests are served a tea or coffee and homemade cake in the sitting room or on the terrace overloooking the sea and extensive garden. Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the garden. Full English breakfast is offered using local ingredients, fresh home made fruit salad, home made jams and marmalade, local farm yoghurts and local bread.
