South Molton

South Molton is a small market town at the southern end of Exmoor situated on the River Mole and so its name is literally South Mole Town. The town has a long history and was mentioned in the Domesday book. Typically of Devon towns. it was involved in the wool industry for centuries but when that declined it diversified into service industries.

Today South Molton is an excellent base to explore Exmoor's beautiful landscape or partake in the many activities that the area has to offer such as Horse Riding or Walking. It also has a good choice of Hotels, Guest Houses and other accommodation.
